Porto, the second largest city of Portugal is the capital of the north. The country owes its name to this ancient harbor city. Especially known for its port wine, with the wine cellars along the river in the old center that, because of its authentic beauty, are on the world heritage list of UNESCO, Porto has so much to offer…

With an individual city trip you will reside in the center of Porto in a comfortable hotel. Dinner will be served in selected restaurants in the historical part of the city, where you can enjoy the best Portuguese cuisine. Visits to the port wine cellars, a boat trip over the Douro river or discovering Porto’s historical center are all possible.

Porto in the evening with the golden Douro river flowing under the Ribiera, the famous Eifel Bridge, the lights of the town, a glass of port on one of the many terraces, it all spells sheer delight.

Portuguese cuisine is not well known outside the country. Thanks to its rich maritime history the variety is astonishing. Each region has a long list of traditional dishes. In the north they are very proud of what they have to offer. The beautiful city Porto, boasts it’s Bacalhao a` Gomes de Sa’, perhaps Portugal’s best recipe for codfish. From traditional rustic too innovative new dishes, like the numerous bacalhao variations too grilled sardines. For meat lovers there are plenty options too, espetada, grilled skewers of beef with garlic, suckling pig (leitão), and let’s not forget the cheeses, desserts and wines.
